Frequently Asked Questions
We want you to feel confident and comfortable in your decision to work with SemanticEd. Here are a few questions we hear often.
What's the process for SemanticEd to build us a website?
Building a website can be a complex process, but with a well-defined plan, it can be made much more manageable. Here are the general steps involved in building a website:
Define the Purpose and Goals of the Website: Determine what the website is meant to accomplish, the target audience, and the overall tone of the website.
Plan the Website Architecture: This involves organizing the information architecture and defining the hierarchy of pages on the website. This includes determining what content will be on the homepage, the main navigation menu, and any secondary menus.
Design the Website: The design stage involves creating the website layout, choosing the colors, typography, and overall aesthetic of the website. The design should reflect the brand and be visually appealing.
Develop the Website: This involves converting the design into a functional website. A developer will use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to code the website and make it responsive and mobile-friendly.
Create Content: Content creation is an essential part of the website building process. This includes writing copy, creating images, and producing videos that align with the website’s goals and audience.
Test the Website: The website should be tested on different devices and browsers to ensure it functions correctly and is accessible to all users.
Launch the Website: Once the website is complete and has been tested, it is ready to be launched. This includes configuring the hosting, domain name, and SSL certificate.
Maintain and Update the Website: Regular maintenance and updates are necessary to ensure the website remains secure, up to date, and relevant to the target audience.
Following these steps can help ensure a successful website build that meets the goals of the business or organization.
How long does it take for a typical website build?
Building a website varies based on the scale and intricacy of the site, as well as the standard of content that you have readily available. Usually, it takes around 4-6 weeks to complete a fundamental website, whereas more extensive projects can take several months. Proper organization and readiness of your content can expedite the process substantially.
What about domains and hosting?
SemanticEd is prepared to provide all domain and hosting services, should you choose to do so. We recommend that you purchase the domain (we can help you). We host on SiteGround, which is highly recommended by WordPress. Every website we build comes with a required monthly maintenance plan to ensure that your site is secured, updated, and maintained on a monthly basis. If you have a problem with your site, you will have the direct phone number of your web designer. (No Email Support Tickets Ever) Unless that’s your thing. This is how we ensure SemanticEd stays local just like you and your business.
Will my website work on a phone, ipad etc?
Every website at every price point that SemanticEd builds will be responsive on laptops, desktops, phones, and iPads. We do this because mobile is now the most likely way your customer will find your website for the first time.
What if I want to make a change on my website?
We build a dashboard for every customer to use to make changes to their website on their own. We do this as a convenience to you, and we also provide a short video training on how to navigate your website dashboard. (Don’t worry, we create profiles with specific permissions to make sure you don’t accidentally delete anything.) If you do, Holy Webs keeps complete backups of your entire site every week!

How does social media management work?
Social media management with SemanticEd is easier than ever because you will have your very own social media manager assigned to your business’s social profiles. Here is what they’ll do:
- They will meet with you monthly to discuss your content strategy.
- They will create designs, graphics, and captions for you.
- They will schedule posts on your social media.
- They will provide you with monthly reports to track growth.
- They will help you choose monthly goals and targets for your business’s social media channels.
- They will respond to comments and reviews on your social media.
- They will give you their personal phone number should you have a “Social Media Emergency” (lol).
All of our team members are trained to maximize your business’s impact on social media and continuously look for opportunities for your business to stand out in the market.

Yes, you will have to sign a contract, but you have the option to cancel anytime you are unhappy. (30-day notice required) Must be written in writing. We do this because often times we have spent a large amount of time planning the month ahead and curating content for your channels that has already been scheduled. All contract options are month-to-month.
How do I get content for my business?
Well, that’s our job! We, through the power of creativity and graphic design, create content specific to your business. We do ask that you provide as many pictures and ideas as possible. When you have a content collection meeting with your Holy Webs social media manager at the beginning of each month, we collect these.
